The walk back home

Sunday, June 28, 2009

Just last week, I went to a nearby coffee shop and had a new experience. That was the first time I took pure Milo without any of my mum's soya additions. That tasted good, sweet and everything. But try this: take a sip of the Milo and wait for a few minutes without taking anything. You will realise that the sweetness is gone replaced by sour. But do the same to plain water and the taste lingering in your mouth is nothing even for a few hours. The conclusion out of this 'experiment' is the sweeter something is, the more sour the afterthoughts may be; on the other hand, the blander it is, the blander the afterthoughts are which beats tasting something extremely sour.

Relating this to our lives, I am not trying to fill your head with pessimistic thoughts. Do not interprete this as trying to forbid you from enjoying the sweetest things in life. But sometimes, note the sweetest things that is happening in life for they end up with dire consequences. One good example would be relationships. Not just romantically (that is for you to relate) but in life when we meet with people. Some words, some prospectives may seem promising, bright and gorgeous. But they have sour consequences. Do not end up having your sweet nothings turn int onothings.
Go try a sip of Milo today.

I am not far away from home just away from my sanctuary. What does it take for me to go back?
