The walk back home

Everyone around the world is fighting for one another's right. And it is always back to the sciene vs ethnics therology.
Just like my friend coming to school not talking. She is fighting for Gay rights which links back to the questions of it is unethical to deprive gay of their rights because they are humans too. I totally have no comment to this but I must say I am enxtremely uncomfortable when meeting gays too. Though mist people are quite open about it, I find it just queer because it is so out of the norm. And as a Christian, we believe that God only commands man and woman... no such thing as man and man. But would gays one day walk around just like how married couples do aand no one would turn to stare? I don't know.
And basically we are having panel discussions in school and I have no idea why but this year's humanities curriculum is concentrating so much on current affairs. We are having a discussion of legalization of made-to-order babies and I must say that I totally disagree. For one, made-to-order babies are conceived by having a sperm and an egg from two donors who have totally never met. And then they group the sperm and eggs together and form a new baby of your wish. This really resembles adultery genetically. The poor child when born, must be wondering why he or she totally do not resemble her parents but someone else. Of course most people might not resemble their parents but that is on accident. I mean parents would not know how the child was like and if the child ends up with a deformity, then that is no one's fault. But made-to-order babies are done purposely. Their genes have been changed on purpose. If anything turns out wrong, that is the fault of the child which leads to my second point.
According to the website, the donors have to be around 25 of age and are perfectly healthy through medical screening. And just because of medical screening, doctors believe that they are putting good genes into the world. Like hello? What about the bag genes in terms of character? Can one find that out? Nope. So? What good genes are put in the world? Do people really believe that is everyone was a made-to-order baby there will be no diseases one day? Then does it mean that since no one in the past have SARS genes no one would get the disease one day?
Thirdly, this is really ethical but it seems like children are to be bought. Literally speaking, made-to-order babies are products that can be bought using money and worst still, they are tailor made. I mean isn't the giving birth of children a process of bringing new life into the world? It should be free of charge because according to Christianity, it is a gift of God. So why are we paying money to buy an embryos?
Fourthly, being a tailor-made child is NOT A GOOD THING. As a child, I can understand the fact of my fate is in my parents' hands. If my parents were dead, then I would be dead. And I would definitely not like the fact of my parents' controlling my life. I mean this is my life, why are you telling me what to do or what genes I should have? And by changing a baby's genes, you are controlling your child. So if that is the case, go buy yourself a robot then. It would have all the characteristics you wanted.
